BIPoC Infopoint was a community support space for receiving and directing incoming refugees to community, self-organized and long lasting support structures dealing with migration, anti-discrimination and mental health and psychosocial support.

The BlPoC Infopoint ran in cooperation with Berlin Arrival Support (BAS).

We advocated for the respectful treatment of Black People, Indigenous People and People of Color as members of especially vulnerable groups fleeing the war in Ukraine.

Since 1 March 2022, we connected over 21,429 third country nationals, BIPoC Ukrainians, their families and volunteers with community-lead initiatives and organisations in Berlin offering legal aid, mental health and psychosocial support, emergency accommodations, transportation, accompaniment, warm meals, language courses and more.

Through virtual channels, the BIPoC Infopoint connected to other BIPoC Telegram groups and infostreams, exchanges information with individuals volunteering and working in the support of BIPoC refugees, problemshooting with one another and updating changes in policy.

Our aim was to provide each person with the most accurate information they need to make the best and most informed decisions for themselves and their families.

Through networking events and in conversation with partners, activitists, politicians, people on the move as well as volunteers in other cities and other ports of entry; we learned that support for BIPoC People fleeing the war in Ukraine was very limited outside of Berlin. People often connected back to the BIPoC Infopoint @ HBF after travelling further and not finding easy access to resources and information.
